Camera Opus for Wear OS 1.2.5

Camera Opus offers the convenience of controlling camera functions from a smartwatch. Through the app, users can view the camera feed in real-time on their watch, scan QR/bar codes, and utilize a built-in motion detection engine that alerts them to movement in the monitored area.

Camera Opus is compatible with smartwatches running Wear OS, Harmony OS, Garmin, and Fitbit operating systems. Some of its key features include taking pictures and videos, camera previews on the watch, zoom functionality, using the torch, camera switching, motion detection, and a Find My Phone feature. It also incorporates a QR/bar code scanner.

Here are some scenarios where Camera Opus could be beneficial:

1. Illuminate hard-to-reach areas by using the phone's torch function from the smartwatch.
2. Capture group selfies by remotely triggering the camera button with the smartwatch.
3. Monitor a baby in another room using the smartwatch for live camera previews or motion detection alerts.
4. Efficiently scan QR codes or bar codes on products and labels.

To operate effectively, Camera Opus requires specific permissions:

1. Camera permission for camera control.
2. Microphone permission for video recording with audio.
3. Storage permission to save media files.
4. 'Display over other apps' permission for running the camera view from the background via the watch app. Note: This permission needs to be manually enabled on Android 10 devices under Settings / Apps / Camera Opus / Advanced settings.
5. Location permission solely for adding location details to images if desired.

To enhance user experience, it is recommended to add Camera Opus to the list of apps that bypass Power Saving settings to prevent interruption of its background service, especially on Huawei or Xiaomi devices. Users can adjust these settings in the app's Power Management section accordingly.

Additional information for Wear OS users: The app is compatible with Wear OS version 2.1 or higher. The watch app can be downloaded from the Play Store directly on the watch.

For Harmony OS watches, users need to download the app from HUAWEI Health or AppGallery; for Garmin watches, from Garmin Connect IQ Store; and for Fitbit watches, from Fitbit Apps Gallery.

The free version comes with limitations such as restricted functions and a maximum picture/video quality of 1MP. Users have the option to purchase the premium version via either the phone or watch app (for Wear OS devices) or directly through Camera Opus on their phone for all supported watches.
